“I’m always stunned by the detail and the depth of Tim’s mixes. I can mix, but not like him. He has the tools and he knows which ones to use to get great results. A total pro.
Not only will Tim follow your suggestions and work within your concept, but he also can provide new approaches which can really open up your music. He has the ears and skills of a great musician-producer-engineer.
Working thousands of hours together, he’s always been positive, cheerful, and eager to provide exactly what I want, even if I change my mind several times. Never disagreeable or cranky, Tim has a great attitude. He won’t ever make you feel silly or fickle just for trying something different. He takes direction like a professional should.
Tim has deep engineering experience and “people skills” earned through years of working with big-name artists and egos, in some of the top studios around the world. And while some people can lose their joy of music after a decade or so of being in the business, Tim has over four decades of experience, and yet he still has the enthusiasm of a younger person doing their first big project.
TJ appreciates so many styles of music and mood, and he knows how to get the right sound to match any song or project. After working in some of the best studios in the world, I admit to being somewhat spoiled. So now that I have have my own recording studio, often, I miss that big-studio sound. Tim Jessup gets it back to that “big-studio” sound while using my “project-studio” tracks.
So in making my best effort in this competitive business, I’m totally pleased that Tim mixed for us. The sonic improvement has been stunning.”

“It’s difficult to describe the enormous contribution Tim Jessup has made to Hummingbird Productions. I have no doubt that his innate grasp of the medium, attention to detail, steadfast integrity and pure love of music have helped elevate my company to a higher level.”

“Tim and I go way back, or what is called way back in this fast-paced and volatile industry. We first worked together in 1991, and have continued to work together with every one of my projects since. We have become friends from our working relationship, and I think only the highest of Tim as a person and a professional.
I found early on that the synergy between Tim and I in the quality of sound of the final product was well matched. His selection of music and sound effects for my vision was perfect. His quality standards were only the highest, and in some cases exceeded my own expectations. I come from a classical education in Cinema with a degree from USC, so my own expectations were very high. Tim was the first person with whom I’ve worked, where I would hand him a project and then “disappear” until he was finished with it.
For a control freak like me, that’s quite an admission.
We first worked together at the Desert Production Center in Phoenix, a full-service film-video production and post-production company that I originally created and then sold to Media America. We produced soundtracks together for TV commercials for major, regional, and local advertising agencies, and programs for Corporate clients, many of whom are members of the Fortune 500 community.
Our working relationship was as easy on the first day as it is today. Tim knows what I want. The programs I produce speak to him in the same way that I create them. He blends music, both needle-down and original pieces, with sound effects to literally make the program come to life. With Tim, the well used and “cop-out” phrase of a typical producer that “we can save it with the sound” becomes a reality. And of course during all the teeth mashing of deadlines and client indecisiveness, Tim remains calm, cool and collected.
Tim’s ethics and honesty are above reproach. I always know I can count on him to be on-time and on-budget, which is extremely important for an Indie producer like myself.
When Tim came on the scene in Phoenix in 1991, the quality level of “sound” in selection and quality went way over 100%. All you have to do is look at Tim’s enormous collection of awards, some of which I am proud to say – are my programs.”
